These numbers stand for the high-quality alloy of 18% chrome, 10% nickel, plus 71% fine iron and 1% carbon.
Despite the regal appearance, stainless steel cutlery has a number of practical advantages:

The most important are:
- They are completely resistant to corrosion - because of their high chrome share.
- They are insensitive to food acids and detergents - due to the nickel share.
- They are hygienic, tasteless and can be cleaned easily in the dish-washer.

solex stainless steel flatware is manufactured out of high-quality stainless chrome/nickel steel (18/10).

18 % Chrome steel:

An inexpensive alternative to the 18/10 stainless steel cutlery is the chrome steel cutlery.
It consists of 18% chrome, 81% fine iron and 1% carbon.

It is especially suitable for canteens, cafeterias and snack bars. Chrome steel cutlery is magnetic and therefore especially usable for magnetic conveyor-belt lift.
